Udankhatola HaridwarHaridwar is one of the most holy places in uttranchal, now it is Uttrakhand. Haridwar, the mean of this word is “Gateway to God”. It is situated at bank of the river Ganga. Here is lots of temples & ashrams in Haridware. “Har Ki Paudi” means “Footsteps of God” is main activity center of all type of worships like Ganga Aarti (worship of ganga river with lamps) in evening looks very beautiful. Haridwar is one of the place, where the great “Kumbh Mela” held in every 12 years along with Allahbad, Nasik, & Ujjain. Millions of people comes here for a dip into Ganga during the Kumbh Mela. Next Maha Kumbh Mela will be held in 2010 at Haridwar and Uttaranchal Govt. start preparation for Kumbh Mela 2010.

Chandi Devi Temple: It is 6 km far from haridwar city, situated at the top of Neel Parvat. This temple is situated at the other bank of river Ganga. The peoples can reach here by ropway trolley (Udan Khatola) or by foot.

Mansa Devi Temple: It is 3.5 km far from haridwar, situated at the top of Bilwa Parvat. It is also connected by ropeway trolley (Udan Khatola) or peoples can also reach here by foot. You can see a beautiful seen of haridwar city from here.

Haridwar is well connected bye all major cities. The distance is around 214 km from Delhi, 24 km from Rishikesh, 55 km from Dehradun.

How to Reach

By Air:
The nearest airport is Jollygrant in Dehardun, around 35 km far from here.


By Train: It is well connected by rail to the major cities. Nearest railway station is Haridwar. Some major trains are – Delhi-Haridwar-Dehardun & Bombay-Haridwar-Dehradun.


By Road: It is well connected to all major cities by road. The regular buses run from Delhi to Haridwar.
