Ranikhet Travel

Ranikhet is a beautiful hill station in the kumaon hills of Uttarakhand (now Uttrankhand) state. The persons who love nature can visit there; Ranikhet is named according to legend, after Rani Padmini wife of Raja Sukhardev, who likes this place so much that she thought of settling down here. Ranikhet is a year-round destination that attracts tourists from all over the country and outside. Ranikhet is the paradise for nature lovers; it offers wonderful views of western Himalayas & Nanda Devi. There are some attractions nearby of this place like Jhula Devi Temple, Chaubatia, Uppat, Kallika, Bhalu dam. Nainital & Almora are the beautiful nearby places from Ranikhet.

Ranikhet offers some wonderful treks for trekking for adventure lovers. They can enjoy trekking to Kausani, Dunagiri and Sitalakhet.

Jhula Devi Temple



The temple is dedicated to Durga & very popular in the local. This is famous for it’s innumerable bells, tied by the devotees to get their wishes fulfilled.


Chaubatia


It is 10 Km away from Ranikhet, house the botanical gardens and a Govt. fruit research institute. On a clear morning a 300 Km wide view of the snow - clad Himalayan peaks can be seen clearly from Chaubatia. The Nanda Devi, Trishul, Nanda Ghunti and Nilkhant peaks can see very clear.

Upat and Kalika



Situated on the road to Almora, Upat has a 9 - hole golf course, while Kalika is famous for its Kali Temple and forest nursery.


How to Reach


By Air: The nearest airport is Pant Nagar, the distance is around 120 Km. from here.


By Train: The nearest railway station is Khatgodam, the distance is around 80 Km. Tourist can take taxi or buses for Ranikhet from here.


By Road: Ranikhet is well connected by roads to all major cities of India. The distance is around 350 Km. from delhi, 50 Km. from Almorah, 59 Km. from Nainital.
