Pauri Garhwal

Pauri Garhwal is a charming district situated in Uttarakhand state of India. This district is annulated by Haridwar, Tehri Garhwal, Dehradun, Rudraprayag, Almora, Chamoli, and Nainital districts from its three sides. This district has very cold climate in winters and quite pleasant in summers. Even in rainy season, the climate is full of greeneries and very cool. Pauri Garhwal has so many interesting places to visit and have fun. The Danda Nagraja Mandir is the very first place to explore. It is a holy shrine situated in the Banelsyun Patti, in the lap of mountains. Even the popular Kauthig festival is celebrated here on a very grand scale annually on 13th and 14th April. The legend says that Lord Krishna came here in the form of a snake for the first time. After the wishes get fulfilled, the devotees tie bells in the temple premises. There are thousands of bells there.

The chief temples of this place include the Kandoliya Devta, Kyunkaleshwar Mahadev, Laxmi Narayan, and Hanuman mandir. There are several picnic spots too for great family time. These spots are surrounded by the Deodar forests. You should visit this place at least once. Tara Kund is another wonderful picturesque spot located amidst the lofty mountains. It is a small lake which is adorned by an ancient temple. Next you can visit the Kyunkaleshwar Mahadev 8th century temple which is devoted to Lord Shiva. It is present in the suburbs. You need enough time to prospect all these places with comfort.

Doodhatoli is another wonderful attraction of Pauri Garhwal tourism which is located an altitude of 3100 m. It is covered with dense mixed forest. You will get a panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges. The natural beauty is offered by the Khirsu Mountains covered with snow. The central Himalayas are viewed here. It is situated at a distance of 19 km from Pauri at an altitude of 1,700 meter. You have to get good knowledge of every destination that is present here. Take out time for every place and spot.
