Gairsain Travel Guide
Gairsain is also spelled and
known as Gairsen which is a village located in Chamoli district in the central
Uttarakhand in India.
It is also mooted as the state's future capital. This Gairsain site
was selected in the year 1994 by the well known as supporters of the separate
Uttarakhand state movement. This is because of the presence of being a central
location that is quite close to the border of the Garhwal as well as the Kumaon
regions. Provisional capital of Uttarakhand is Dehradun which is the largest
city in this region as per its inception in the year 2000.
As per the old tale the name Gairsain actually
derives from the Garhwali language. Gair means deep and the word Sain means
plane. This refers to a place like a valley, or a plane area located at the foot

Dehradun.

termed as the site of the source of the Ramganga River, and the Doodhatoli Parwat
where in the Ramganga River actually rises. This place is located at the heart
of Uttarakhad and Kaushik Committee which recommended it to be the capital of
Uttarakhand. Gairsain is simply about 16 km away from Almora border located at
the national highway 87 extension. You can reach the place in just few minutes.
Well, the nearest railway station to Gairsain is the Ramnagar railway station
which is present at distance of 150 km. Moreover, the closest airport is the Gaucher
airport at a distance of 54 km.
When it comes to excursions of Gairsain, they
are so many in numbers. Both the excursions within the town and the near by
excursions are included. The most loved and most visited places nearby includes
the Chaukhutiya, Ranikhet, Karnaprayag, Kausani, and Dwarahat. They are juts
marvelous in several different ways. The weather is just amazing and perfect to
spend time from the crowded and hectic life of the metropolitan cities. This
